Advisory Committee Fired
The Advisory Committee (AC) of the SA National Museum of Military History (SANMMH) was arbitrarily fired by the Chairman of the Board of the Northern Flagship Institution (NFI) earlier this year.

The NFI became the controlling authorityof the SANMMH several years ago when all the national museums in the Gauteng Area was absorbed under one central Head Office in Pretoria.

The Chairman ignored the service rendered by the AC over many years by neither advising the members (all volunteers) properly or rendering any reasons for his seemingly abrupt personal decision.

The AC was the successor to the former Board of Control of the SANMMH that was instituted in 1947.
The AC members represented various skills and experience that was a valuable asset to the SANMMH.
They all gave of their own time and energies to further the aim of the Museum with no recompence.

Objectively viewed this summary action appears to have political undertones.
